This sculptural vase in luminous azure/sky blue glass with subtle cobalt threads, is overlaid in a dichroic mosaic pattern. The single word WOMAN featured in the mosaic design, celebrates the sacred feminine. Eclectic dichroic shapes in shades and patterns of emerald, violet, sapphire, fuchsia and gold pop and shimmer in natural light. The surface of this piece is encased in clear polished glass, with exceptional depth and movement even under studio light.

The vase is finished with a dramatic rolled rim trimmed in black. It’s professionally ground and polished pontil, reflects high-quality handblown art glass. “MAD 2000” is clearly engraved around the punt mark.

MAD Art Studios is the creation of Michael Maddy and Rina Fehrensen. Both native Californians, they started MAD Art Studio in 1997 specifically to create their playful and whimsical glass pieces. That small studio has grown into a 3,500 square foot facility, that new included more traditional glassforms as well.
