Antique Elite Works Limoges 9” Square Vegetable Bowl - Celadon Dots & Gilded Scrolls
Elevate your tablescape with this refined antique serving bowl from the renowned Elite Works (Bawo & Dotter) of Limoges, France. Produced during the factory's "Golden Age" (circa 1900–1914), this piece features a sophisticated square form with a scalloped rim and intricate, hand-applied gold floral scrollwork. The luminous white hard-paste porcelain provides a brilliant backdrop for the ornate gilding, making it a versatile centerpiece for serving vegetables, sides, or as a standalone decor piece. Originally part of a covered dish set, this base now functions as an elegant open server, perfect for the modern traditionalist or "Grandmillennial" host.

Good Antique Condition. This authentic century-old piece shows character consistent with its long history. The central well remains bright with only light utensil scuffing. There is visible, honest rubbing and thinning to the gold gilding on the scrollwork and scalloped edge, creating a beautiful aged patina. The underside shows minor shelf wear on the unglazed foot rim. Structurally sound with no chips, cracks, or professional repairs
.
Collector’s Note: The Elite Works Dual-Mark System
Even without its lid, this piece remains a significant collector's item due to its prestigious Elite Works dual-backstamp. The green underglaze factory mark ('ELITE / L / FRANCE') dates the porcelain body to 1896–1920, while the red overglaze 'St. Martial' shield confirms the intricate decoration was completed in-house between 1900 and 1914. Collectors highly prize these dual-marked examples as they verify the piece was both manufactured and decorated entirely within the Elite factory during their most celebrated era.
A timeless survivor from a bygone era of elegance, this Elite Works bowl is a functional heirloom that brings the charm of turn-of-the-century France to the modern home.
