Made of fine ceramic, most likely porcelain, this decorative photo frame features an elegant curvilinear silhouette richly adorned with rocaille scrolls, floral motifs, and garlands of oak leaves. The sculptural form recalls the opulence of 18th-century European design, celebrating the ornamental tradition of the Louis XV period. The surface is beautifully hand-painted in matte and burnished gold enamel (oro zecchino) with delicate pastel tones set against white, teal, and Sèvres blue grounds.
