The form is defined by its stepped, sloping geometry: a wide, tapering base with sharply angled sides supports a recessed interior and a boldly pitched lid.

The lid is finished in a silver-coloured metal, contrasting with the warmer brass-toned base and interior. This interplay of cool and warm metals enhances the box’s strong, graphic presence and emphasises its angular construction. The interior retains a rich golden hue, creating a striking visual contrast when opened.

The surfaces show natural wear and patination consistent with age, contributing to the piece’s character. Indistinctly signed to one corner, though the mark remains difficult to read.
