The sculptural composition depicts stylized children, a recurring and sought-after theme in French Art Deco sculpture.
Cast in finely detailed patinated bronze, each bookend is signed Raoul Benard and bears the LN foundry mark (Les Neveux de Lehmann, Paris), one of the most respected Parisian art foundries of the period.
