Originally born in Finland, Leah Rinne immigrated to the United states in 1921...moving to the San Francisco bay area where she graduated from UC Berkeley and later taught in San Rafael at Dominican College. She lived in the Russian Hill Neighborhood of San Francisco and was president of SF women's artist and active in the California watercolor society and San Francisco Art Association.
This painting is titled "mending the nets" and is one of her modern figurative watercolors.
She had exhibitions at SF museum of art and won many awards during her lifetime. She passed away in 1960. See less
