This is for a lovely Vintage Bronzed Solid Brass statue. It appears to be Socrates. He is sitting / laying … Read more This is for a lovely Vintage Bronzed Solid Brass statue. It appears to be Socrates. He is sitting / laying on a couch that is decorated with a pair of legs that are Winged Godess Women as the legs that lead to paw feet. He is dressed in the traditional Greek / Roman draped clothing with an Olive Branch head dress. He has some natural patina on him.
Socrates is also holding a tablet and seems to be reading it or teaching others who are looking on.
This piece has a natural patina and has great detail. I do not find any makers name.

This piece measures: 11.75 inches long x 11.5 inches tall x 5 inches deep
while weighing in at: 7 lbs 4 Oz.

(The Greek 5th-century philosopher Socrates (469-399 BC) sought genuine knowledge rather than mere victory over an opponent; Socrates employed the arguments of logic towards a new purpose, the pursuit of truth.)

Majority of my items for sale are pre-loved treasures that were most likely purchased at a local Estate Sale or a local resale shop in Arizona. I may or may not know details but do spend time researching information to provide details the best I can and to pass along fair prices.
