An imposing matched pair of three-armed candle holders hand forged in black iron during the Arts and Crafts period in Germany, circa 1910. The patinated candelabra pair is attributed to Hugo Berger (known as Goberg). Berger produced decorative metal and ironwork designs using traditional techniques; his work was carried by retailers including Liberty and Company of London and Metz & Company in the Netherlands.
The simple and substantial dark patinated metal makes an ideal accent for an Arts and Crafts, rustic, or industrial interior. Each candelabra measures 12.25 in. H x 12 in. W x 4.75 in. diameter (at base) and bears a GERMANY mark (circled in images 6 and 7). Good condition with some typical wear to the patina, particularly inside the candle cups. which shows some corrosion and patina loss, presumably from cleaning.
