Balancing tribal style and traditional sensibility with nomadic village charm, this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Viss rug is an amalgam of Caucasian influence. The abrashed red field features three amulet medallions decorated with scarab motif, botehs, rosettes, and serrated leaves. Each blue corner spandrel displays a scarab with a tree of life surrounded by small rosettes. It is enclosed with a geometric meandering border comprised of pentagon house shapes and serrated leaves. The striking play of pattern and scale imbues this vintage Persian rug with immense visual interest and graphic appeal.
