This 19th century English pine dresser is beautifully constructed, with solid craftsmanship and visible hand-hewn joinery that quietly tells the story of the maker’s tools. The lower cabinet offers a wonderfully practical configuration: three drawers over two paneled doors, flanking a classic “dog kennel” open center — once intended for everyday access to crockery or baskets, and still remarkably useful today. The drawers glide with that reassuring weight of old pine, finished with lovely brass hardware that adds a soft glint against the warmth of the wood.

The proportions are generous without overwhelming — the bottom cabinet measures 30.5” high and 54.5” wide — making it an ideal working surface, sideboard, or anchoring piece in a kitchen or dining room.

Above, the upper shelving sits on a footed base, rising to a simple corniced top. Three fixed shelves provide ample display space, each fitted with a traditional plate rail — a detail both functional and charming, ready to steady ironstone, blue and white, or a collected mix of books and pottery.
