This stunning antique terracotta water jug, or "cruche," is a quintessential piece of French Provincial pottery from the South of France (Biot/Provence region). Hand-thrown in the late 19th century, it features a vibrant emerald green glaze known as alquifoux, which was traditionally used to waterproof utilitarian vessels.
The jug boasts a robust, rounded body with two elegant lateral handles and a charming, weathered patina. Its rich green hue is deeply saturated with beautiful variations and natural "imperfections" that only time can create.
