The slender shape with a thick, rounded rim is typical of rural Southern Italian pottery; the interior and rim are coated with an ochre/honey yellow glaze, while the exterior is left in natural terracotta, darkened by time and exposure to hearth smoke.

The surface displays an intense, deeply textured patina: traces of soot, scratches, small chips, and firing irregularities, all elements that accentuate its wabi-sabi character and authentic charm.

Today, the vase works perfectly as a sculptural object in country kitchens, Mediterranean interiors, or minimalist spaces with a raw feel, or as a decorative container for dried branches or flowers. Not recommended for food use, to preserve its history and original patina. See less
