Iconic Design: The No. 519 Café Capua Chair Experience a piece of architectural history with the No. 519 Café Capua chair.
Designed in 1913 by the pioneering modernist architect Adolf Loos, this chair remains a masterclass in the philosophy of "form following function."
The Story Behind the Design Originally commissioned specifically for the elegant interior of Café Capua in Vienna, this chair was brought to life by the legendary furniture manufacturer Thonet. It represents a transition from the ornate styles of the 19th century toward the clean, structural lines that defined modern 20th-century design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
