Founded … Read more Søholm Keramik was the oldest and one of the most significant ceramic factories on the Danish island of Bornholm. Founded in 1835 and operating until 1996, it became a cornerstone of Danish mid-century modern design.

Between 1935 and 1958, Einer Johansen ran his own pottery workshop. He then began working at Søholm, where he remained until the mid-1960s, after which he returned to operating his own studio. Johansen was employed at Søholm from 1958 to 1968, designing a number of beautiful pieces in stoneware and ceramics—among them his renowned blue-glazed stoneware. In the early 1970s, he also worked for Knabstrup. This piece has an attribution mark,
