Excellent condition The concept of “simultaneous” in Sonia Delaunay's work has a first pictorial meaning, that of Simultanéisme: a term used to describe her compositions conceived according to a reflection on the law of simultaneous color contrast. This concept can also encompass her entire body of work, as the artist transposes her art simultaneously onto various decorative art media, including ceramics. The artist conceives a circular composition to cover the bottom of the plate, and here, as a motif in itself. Two antagonistic circular movements meet at the center of the composition, built by the complementarity of the red and green semicircles, followed by the addition of blue and black. The cold color of the blue creates dissonance and adds rhythm to the initial chromatic harmony. Finally, contrast is provided by curves colored black and others left white. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
