A rare and lyrical drawing by Mino Maccari, executed in diluted watercolour with brush and light ink accents, depicting two simplified human figures engaged in a quiet, intimate exchange. Reduced to their essential outlines, the figures emerge from the blank ground through broad, fluid washes of reddish pigment, their faces defined by minimal yet expressive marks. The composition is notable for its economy of means and painterly restraint. Maccari abandons caricatural excess in favour of synthesis, allowing gesture, tone, and negative space to carry the emotional weight of the scene.
