it later spent part of its life in a municipal library.

we love its size, which gives it a large, family-friendly feel.

the walnut, with its unique color and grain, lends this table exceptional quality.
the tabletop has mortise and tenon joints all around, with lovely details underneath. The interior of the tabletop is made of walnut veneer. As such, some imperfections are noticeable – the veneer has slightly warped in places, and there are a few small, discreet chips.
the table has six tapered, fluted legs, all connected by stretchers.
the entire piece is made of solid walnut and is in very good overall condition, with its age-related imperfections – marks, patina, and minor chips.
it has a very comfortable height under the apron, though it is slightly above average. It would be possible to cut off the small round feet under each leg to lower the height, if you prefer (this depends on the height of your seating).

the table has intentionally been left with its original patina, including its imperfections.

the veneer could, however, be refinished if you desire a perfect finish. Otherwise, it can be used perfectly as is; just be aware that the veneer has some roughness to the touch in places.
