The piece is made on a monumental scale measuring over 5 feet wide. The trunk is reinforced throughout with patinated metal corner end caps and riveted hardware. The trunk also includes recessed side handles and a latch with a keyhole escutcheon with original keys shown in pictures. The top is flat, allowing for use as a coffee or drinks table. The trunk opens into a finished interior, featuring two burgundy trays with hand holds, which are removable and open up into a generous main compartment for storage, which is finished beautifully in hardwood. Both decorative and functional, the piece functions as a coffee table, drinks table, storage trunk, or as an end-of-bed piece. The trunk blends British Campaign, Coastal, and Traditional styles, making it suitable for a variety of interiors. The case is sturdy and strong having excellent joinery and craftsmanship in exceptional condition as seen in photos.
