Watercolor on paper of a farmyard by Kansas / Missouri artist Verna Alice Johnston Peck (1889-1971). Signed lower right. Mounted over the building door is "Ohio Oil Company" the precursor of Marathon Oil.
Living in Kansas City, she was a pupil of Grace Raymond, Clayton Henri Staples, and Thomas Hart Benton. Peck won awards at: Kansas State Fair, 1940, 1942; Missouri State Fair, 1955, 1960, 1961; Plaza Art Fair, 1960.
