This beautiful Chinese export four panel coromandel screen displays ladies in courtyard with pavilion, trees and flowers. It is crafted with carved soapstone in soft colors over lacquered panels on square feet that are capped with patinated brass. The scene is bordered by intricate mother-of-pearl inlays, and the bottom of the panels features carved soapstone of flowers surrounded by more inlays. The reverse side is decorated with tree and birds in gilt.
