This blown glass chandelier is a piece of great elegance and refinement by vittorio zecchin, a master of murano glass in the 1920s and 1930s, a period during which he collaborated with venini and mvm cappellin. It is a vertical suspension lamp with a single pendant, very slender and sculptural, which plays on a harmonious succession of blown volumes that alternately taper and widen. The whole appears light, almost floating. Rosette/upper attachment: a small inverted chalice-shaped cup (flower or open petal) in clear glass with a deep cobalt blue rim. Elongated cylindrical neck: in clear straw/light amber glass, very thin and straight, giving it a vertical thrust. Blue spherical node: a solid sphere in deep cobalt blue, which serves as a separation element and strong color contrast. Central disc/inverted parasol: a large, flat disc with a wavy or petaled edge, always in clear glass with applied blue lines. Main body: the most striking feature is a large, elongated droplet/inverted pear shape, blown from very thin, clear glass. Inside (or rather, embedded in the glass wall) runs an organic network of sinuous, irregular cobalt blue lines, reminiscent of veins, seaweed, or art nouveau/deco abstractions. This motif creates an impression of liquid movement and great optical depth. Terminal: a small, transparent, hanging teardrop completes the piece, creating the signature "dripping" effect so dear to murano tradition. Typical of murano design from the 1920s and 1930s: understated art nouveau elegance, elongated organic forms, and a focus on the purity of the clear glass, interrupted by touches of bold color. It evokes an atmosphere of discreet luxury, almost aquatic or marine, with that sense of lightness and preciousness that characterized zecchin's creations for venini. In short, it is a chandelier of the highest quality murano craftsmanship, with a beautiful balance of transparency, deep blue color, and vertical sculptural form.
