We are looking at a superb specimen of the Shogun floor lamp, a piece that has marked the history of postmodern design. Born in 1986 out of a collaboration between the genius of Swiss architect Mario Botta and the prestigious Italian company Artemide, this lamp is not a simple lighting object, but a true light sculpture. Materials and Structure: The base, made of cast iron painted black, gives the object solid stability and a strong visual impact. Rising from it is the metal stem, whose surface features the iconic black-and-white horizontal stripe pattern, a recurring stylistic signature in Botta's works. The Diffuser: The real peculiarity of the Shogun lies in its innovative speaker. It consists of two semi-cylindrical elements made of perforated steel plate and painted white. This solution is not only aesthetic, but also functional: the light, filtering through the dense grid, creates a unique and evocative atmosphere, projecting plays of shadow and light into the surrounding environment. Peculiarities and Conditions: As can be seen from the pictures, this specimen is in excellent condition, a not insignificant detail for a piece nearly forty years old. The paintwork is well-preserved and, most importantly, the speakers are double swiveling. with a simple gesture, they can be rotated and superimposed, allowing the light beam to be directed and the appearance of the lamp itself to be continuously changed, making it a dynamic and interactive object. In sum, the Shogun is more than a lamp: it is a collector's piece that embodies the bold, geometric spirit of the 1980s, an investment destined to retain its appeal and value over time. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
