A rare and highly decorative 1970s table lamp by Jean-Claude Mahey, featuring a sculptural rectangular base veneered in rich burl wood with striking abstract inlay decoration. The composition evokes a stylised landscape with tree silhouette and architectural form, executed in contrasting tones of honey, caramel and deep espresso brown. The glossy lacquer finish enhances the depth of the burl grain, typical of Mahey’s refined French craftsmanship. The lamp stands on a stepped metal plinth, adding architectural elegance and balance.
