This low Japanese writing table from the 1920s is a simple, honest piece with a warm wood patina and a timeless presence.
Dimensions: height 35 cm, width 81 cm, depth 53 cm.
The rectangular top and clean lines give the table a calm, balanced look, while the open side panels with vertical slats add a subtle graphic detail.
At the front, there are two practical drawers with metal pulls—ideal for storing stationery, papers, a remote control, or small everyday items neatly out of sight. Traditionally, this type of table was used as a low writing desk, meant for working while seated on the floor.
Today, it works beautifully as a low side table next to a sofa, as a display surface for ceramics, plants, or an ikebana arrangement, or as a quiet accent piece placed beneath artwork. Thanks to its understated design, it fits effortlessly into a minimalist interior as well as a more eclectic setting.
Condition: good overall condition with authentic signs of use and a natural patina consistent with age. Sturdy and functional, with drawers that open and close well.
