Its generous size and firm filling make it suitable for formal sitting or kneeling during rituals, meditation, or as seating in front of a low altar.

Dimensions: height 18 cm, width 112 cm, depth 76 cm.

The cushion is double-sided and shifts subtly with the light. One side shows a warm red tone with woven floral motifs; the other reads as blue to blue-purple. At the center you see large, peony-like blossoms with elegant karakusa scrollwork, woven tone-on-tone with a soft sheen. The central tufting is still present and highlights the handcrafted character.

The wide border is finished in rich kinran-style brocade in gold and silver. The pattern features repeating chrysanthemum (kiku) medallions, complemented by foliage and scrolling ornament. Tassels on the corners complete the classic ceremonial silhouette.

It also works beautifully in a contemporary interior: as a statement floor cushion under a low table, a generous meditation or reading spot, or a sculptural textile accent. The combination of colour, sheen, and pattern instantly creates a distinctive collector’s feel.
