Anatole Riecke was the master glassmaker at La Coupole in Paris.
Of Russian origin, he worked in Paris and was responsible for the decoration of La Coupole from 1930 to 1937. His exquisite glasswork is evident here with a Cubist influence in the abstract motifs that contrast with the very smooth surface of the black opaline. Chic and timeless, this vase will complement both antique and contemporary styles. Signed A. Riecke and dated 1969. One small, barely visible chip on the back corner of the smaller vase (see photo).
