This high quality ceramic art jug vase was created by the renown German artist Helma Klett (1908-1996) during the 1950s.
A sculptural vessel in impressive hues of brick red, featuring an abstract modernist looped line decor.
The jug is stamped on the underside with Helma Klett's workshop logo. This piece comes from an ambitious private art collection.
Helma Klett was trained by the renown ceramist Siegfried Graham in Römhild during the 1930s. The ceramist founded her artistic pottery workshop in the village of Fredelsloh, Northern Germany in 1940.
She followed the modernist principles of the Bauhaus as well as traditional design in her work and this duality makes it very interesting. This piece has an attribution mark,
