the chair is the rare model 207 p and was produced from 1970 to 1980. Helen thonet, who i mailed, suspects these chairs are from the 1970s.
she wrote: " i cannot give you the exact manufacturing date, but the trademark was used from the 1960s onwards."
the chairs have a strong resemblence with the long john 207 chairs by thonet from 1970s, but are less baroque and more stylish.

provenance:
the chairs where in the boardroom in the castle of john fentener van vlissingen (1939–2025) who was a prominent dutch entrepreneur and scion of the wealthy entrepreneurial family behind shv holdings. Instead of leading the family business, he founded his own empire: bcd group, a global leader in corporate travel, and the investment company boron.
