This high quality studio ceramic art vase was created by the renown German ceramist Helma Klett (1908-1996) during the 1940s.
The fine vessel is glazed in impressive hues of ochre and brown.
Its funnel-shaped design with the pronounced striped base is influences by the Art Deco style. The vase is signed on the underside with the workshop logo. It comes from an ambitious private ceramic art collection.
Helma Klett was trained by the renown ceramist Siegfried Graham in Römhild during the 1930s. The ceramist founded her own artistic pottery workshop in the village of Fredelsloh, Northern Germany in 1940.
Helma Klett followed the modernist principles of the Bauhaus as well as traditional design in her work and this duality makes it very interesting. This piece has an attribution mark,
