He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam and began his career as a commercial artist. Fiedeldij was a modernist with a strongly geometric-abstract style, combining influences from the Bauhaus and the De Stijl movement. His designs are characterized by clean lines, functional design, and often colorful accents. Floris H. Fiedeldij was best known for his work for the Dutch design firm Artimeta. There, in the 1950s, he designed numerous lighting fixtures, mirrors, and tables, including these two delicate side tables. They are made of black lacquered steel and feature a white Marbit glass insert. They are in very good overall condition. The frames show no distracting signs of wear. The edges and surfaces of the glass are flawless. Sizes 35.5 x 35.5 cm, height 40 cm and 28.5 x 28.5 cm, height 38 cm. Location: external warehouse.
