This is a pair of French 19th century stools with Neo-classical and Empire influences. The carved laurel and hooves are show stoppers. The legs are black lacquer and giltwood. Each stool has an original third support. This was common for that time period. They were not intended for comfort, and the padding is thin as well. The fabric dates to the 1960s, and although it is free of holes, it does show wear. These are rare birds! See less
