A rare telescopic lamp table to be found in this condition, pulls in and out for adjustable height! Superb quality, but most interesting part is the world class quality bronze work, the feet, gallery, stem, made by the medallier / jeweler of the time. Tripod wood base is placed on three dore gilt bronze hairy lion feet. From it's center comes a column that supports an oval wood tray, crowned with an amazing pierced gilt bronze gallery. From the center of the tray rises another column before the brass extendable rod that houses the wires. All wood surfaces are decorated with Chinese chinoiserie paintings of people, junk boats, nature, bridges, pagoda top houses, decorations matching gold bronze to perfection. Bronze rod is engraved with maker name and "London New York". The condition is very good, which is rarely the case with this kind of work, minimal age / use wear, brand new wiring and socket (please see photos). The table-lamp is great for any house, apartment or office at 16" wide and 12" deep across the tray, while the adjustable top can range from 58" tall, or go up to 70" to the top of the finial (a foot extension - see last 2 photos). It will be a great addition to any traditional or mid-century modern setting, a jewel of your collection! See less
