Wallpaper covering made by Zuber, this stunning vintage three panel wallpaper screen features a gray scene with purple, green and pink figures. The wallpaper has been applied to the board, creating a three panel screen. It wraps around the sides, where it is adhered.
It depicts an ancient Greco-Roman city, painted almost entirely in grisaille for the architecture and statuary. Classical temple architecture with columns, pediments, and a domed rotunda on the right. A large freestanding statue of a toga-clad figure under a canopied aedicula. Robed figures strolling through a plaza. Stone paving, gardens, and terraced steps.
Zuber is a French manufacturer based in Rixheim, Alsace, producing luxury wallpapers and fabrics, including hand-painted scenic ("panoramic") wallpapers, wallpaper and wallcovering collections, custom decors, fabrics, leather, ceilings, and decorative trims like friezes and ornaments. It's known for its heritage craftsmanship, using traditional techniques (including wood-block printing) dating back to the 18th century.
