Amazing work of Americana, extra large painting featuring a road going through the tall tree forest of Founders Grove, California, with a man traveling through with his horse and buggy. Tall trees are barely letting through the sunrays, hence exhibiting masterfully painted shadows. Artist signature is in bottom left corner "C.T. Wilson" (American 1855-1920), and dated. Back of the frame has a pencil written dedication / provenance. Oil painting is executed on canvas and contained in carved gilt frame. Good condition, minimal age / use wear on the frame - please see photos. Size is large and impressive 52.5" wide x 37.5" height overall, while the art alone is 44.5" x 29.5". Great painting for any traditional or mid-century modern setting! See less
