Offered is a vintage, circa. 1970s, glazed stoneware Pottery Craft ashtray made in Compton, California.
Key artists that designed for Treasure Craft, which became Pottery Craft, included Robert Maxwell, Ray Murray, and Don Winton. This vase resembles the collection of vessels and objects designed by Maxwell, however, he was only affiliated with Treasure Craft for 6 months while the company underwent changes and continued to produce wares inspired by his original designs. It bears the company's maker's mark on the bottom (see photo).
The ashtray measures 8.5" in diameter, 1.75" tall.
