A fine oil on canvas self portrait by Robert Brackman (1898-1980), housed in a substantial carved wood frame.
Brackman studied at the National Academy of Design and went on to teach at the Art Students League of New York, the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, and the Brooklyn Museum School. He is best known for figural work and still lifes. Brackman seems to have painted many self portraits, some having sold at major auction houses including Christie's.
