Refined French desk in mahogany and crotchet mahogany, featuring the sober, geometric lines typical of the late 18th and early 19th century. This piece perfectly combines functional functionality with the aristocratic aesthetic of European study furniture.
Main Features:
Worktop: Large rectangular top covered in burgundy leather, embellished with heat-stamped gilt borders and corner friezes.
Modularity: The worktop extends thanks to two concealed side drawers, also covered in matching leather, significantly increasing the storage space.
Drawer Architecture: The front is supported by five drawers (four at the sides and a larger central one), veneered in crotchet mahogany.
Ornamental Details: Original gilt-bronze hardware, with plant-themed escutcheons and working locks.
Supports: The structure rests on four elegant truncated pyramid legs, which lend a sense of sleekness and visual lightness to the entire piece, ending with brass tips.
Versatility: The piece is finished on all sides (center of the room), allowing it to be placed even away from walls.
Conservation Status:
The piece is in excellent overall condition. The wood patina is warm and deep, and features a shellac polish.
