This antique cassettiera (chest of drawers) from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top, over a case which houses two full-sized drawers, designed in clean, simple lines, fluted front and rear sides posts, and having raised panel sides. This case piece is raised upon four squared legs, with inwardly profiled knees, which gently taper towards their feet. The rectangular-paneled drawer fronts are fitted with decorative black metal pulls and a matching escutcheon at their center. The wood has a lightly bleached finish with custom painted neutral tone accent trim. This 19th century Italian raised chest would be a beautiful addition to a bedroom, or perhaps in a foyer or living area with decorative items atop and storage within. See less
