This monumental display cabinet exemplifies Linke’s mastery of form, proportion, and opulent ormolu mounts, executed in the grand Louis XV taste that made him internationally acclaimed. The elegant serpentine silhouette is veneered in finely figured kingwood and tulipwood parquetry, richly accented throughout with finely chased and mercury-gilt ormolu mounts of scrolling acanthus, rocaille cartouches, and foliate motifs.
The shaped marble top crowns the vitrine with restrained elegance, complementing the fluid curvature of the case.
