Drawer show hand … Read more Nice antique American solid cherry 2 drawer Sheraton work or side table. Table was made about 1820. Drawer show hand dovetail construction as we expect. The bottom drawer's draw bottom is a late 19th century replacement, the other drawer is fine. There is some filler where there was a knot in the wood, this is shown in the next to the last photo and there is a shrinkage crack on the right side that shows a little filler as well. This is shown in the last photo. There are 2 light areas on the top. As it was explained to me years ago that is because this was taken from the "heart" of the tree. This is where the sap would run as it was explained to me. You dont often see this and to me it makes the wood all the more interesting. Table is 22 1/4" wide and 18 1/2" deep and stands 28 1/4" tall. Table was refinished at some point and the top was refinished recently in my opinion. A good serviceable table that can be used in any room. See less
