With Mounted Marc Chagall Signature

Offered is an original cover from the March/April 1950 issue (No. 27-28) of Derrière Le Miroir, the influential Paris art publication produced by Maeght between 1946–1982.

This issue coincided with Chagall’s 1950 exhibition in Paris and features the well-known DLM cover image reproduced from his work.

Included beneath the cover is a separate mounted signature reading “Marc Chagall.” The signature is executed in ink on paper and has been mounted in presentation format at some point in the piece’s history.

The DLM cover itself is a genuine period lithographic print and shows French text on the reverse consistent with original publication.

Condition:

The actual image part of the lithograph is in very good condition and its colors are as vibrant and mesmerizing as ever. The margins and mount is marked in places and shows light age-related wear consistent with vintage paper. Examine all the pictures closely.
