George III mahogany secretary bookcase, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century.
The upper cabinet features two glazed doors with elegant intersecting gothic-style muntins and refined inlaid borders, opening to adjustable shelving. A molded cornice crowns the case, giving the piece strong architectural presence.
The fall-front writing desk opens to a fitted interior with small drawers, document cubbies, and pigeonholes. The interior retains its period character, showing age and use consistent with an authentic 18th–early 19th century piece. Below are four graduated drawers with brass oval pulls and delicate line inlay detailing.
Crafted in richly figured mahogany, this secretary reflects the refined proportions and restrained ornamentation characteristic of the George III period.
