The sculptural terrier forms reflect the refined animal motifs and strong modeling associated with the Art Deco period. Crafted in solid cast bronze, each piece features finely modeled terrier detailing with a dark bronze surface and subtle greenish patina in recessed areas, consistent with age and bronze oxidation.

Both bookends are clearly stamped on the reverse: “McClelland Barclay 1932,” confirming authorship and production date.

Condition: Vintage condition with expected surface wear, patina and craqueluer to the finish consistent with age. One bookend shows a small chip to the ear (the example on the left when viewed from the front). No other significant damage observed.
