Pink clous billow in a blue sky. The lovely view is close to Marina's Giverny, a place on the Indian Creek in rural Missouri. She has been painting there for close to 30 years. The ring of tress around the fields outlines the path of the Big Indian Creek. The rolling hills of the foothills of the Ozark Mountains stand in the distance. This painting was created on stretched canvas and measures 16" tall by 20" wide. The golden plein air frame is 17.5 " tall by 21.5" wide and .1.5" deep. Painting in the tradition of George Caleb Bingham, Marina paints the Missouri she knows and loves.

Marina Movshina is an American artist known for landscape painting, and for her illustrations of children’s books, as well as her botanicals. Her paintings have been selected for the exhibition of distinguished alumni at Carnegie-Mellon’s Centennial Celebration of its College of Fine Art, the Logan Center at the University of Chicago and the Harlin Museum in West Plains, MO. An elected artist member of the American Artists’ Professional League, New York, NY, she is admired for her skill as a painter and draftsman in the handling of space, depiction of light, and expert use of color. She received a B.F.A. from Carnegie-Mellon University and studied at the Art Students’ League, New York, NY, Washington University, St. Louis, MO, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. Marina lives in St. Louis, MO.
