Set of four "Taurex" candlestick holders by German designer Walter Von Nessen (1889-1943) for the Chase Brass & Copper Company circa 1935. With sleek, geometric lines they exemplify streamlined Machine Age design. The "Taurex" candlestick holders were part of Chase's luxury goods line from the 1930s which focused on quality craftsmanship and forward-thinking design that seamlessly blended form and function. Maker's mark stamped on the undersides.
Provenance: From the estate of Ilon Specht, American advertising copywriter famous for coining the slogan "Because I'm Worth It" for L'Oréal Paris.
