1960s Egyptian Cairo Ware Mixed Metal Pharaonic Revival Vase
This striking mid-century Cairo Ware vase is a fine example of the Mamluk Revival style, skillfully hand-hammered with a blend of mixed metals. The vessel features a warm brass body intricately inlaid with copper and silver-tone overlays. The detailed decorative scenes depict traditional Pharaonic motifs, including figures of ancient rulers, pyramids, and delicate lotus patterns that wrap around the vessel's circumference.
Standing at approximately 10.5 inches tall and 9.5 inches wide, this large decorative piece serves as a sophisticated statement of Egyptian Revival artistry. The dark, matte patina on the brass provides a rich, authentic finish that beautifully contrasts with the mixed-metal overlays.
Condition
The vase is in very good vintage condition, showing appropriate signs of age and normal use. The metalwork displays a natural, undisturbed patina that validates its vintage origin. All inlays appear to be intact with no major decoration loss. The underside of the base shows faint, hand-applied markings characteristic of its handmade Cairo workshop origins.
An elegant and timeless accent, this vase is a must-have for collectors of global antiques or those looking to add a touch of historical Middle Eastern charm to their home décor.
