The Latin cross form features flared, rounded terminals, each with a recessed field inlaid with a colored cabochon (four in total: two red, one purple/amethyst-like, one turquoise/teal).

The central relief figure of Christ crucified is stylized with expressive, somewhat naive modelling typical of provincial Baroque workshops—elongated proportions, prominent facial features, and simplified drapery on the perizonium.

Provenance:
Formerly in a European private collection; acquired 1920s on the Vienna antiques market (Austria). The object has been in Europe for several decades. See less
