One side shows women in … Read more A mid‑20th‑century Japanese tabletop byōbu screen with four lacquered wood panels joined by brass hinges. One side shows women in a courtyard rendered in carved hardstone and shell; the reverse depicts a minimalist bamboo scene painted in gold. When fully opened, the screen measures about 22 inches (56 cm) wide and 16 inches (41 cm) high. The inlay is complete and the lacquer surfaces show only light marks from age. See less
