For your consideration is this magnificent Chinese Famille Jaune porcelain ginger jar with cover. Standing an impressive 18 inches tall, this piece features an intricate "Millefleur" (thousand flowers) design, hand-decorated with vibrant chrysanthemums and peonies over a brilliant imperial yellow glaze.
The jar is in immaculate condition with no chips, cracks, or visible scratches. The glaze is smooth to the touch, with a slight texture from the hand-applied enamel layers. Enamel: The vibrant Millefleur (Thousand Flowers) pattern is well-preserved. Under close inspection, there is very minor rubbing to the gilt and enamel on the high points of the shoulders, consistent with age and careful handling. Glaze: The yellow ground retains its original luster. There are a few tiny kiln firing spots (minor inclusions in the glaze) from the original manufacturing process, which are standard for handcrafted porcelain of this scale. Fit: The lid fits securely and is original to the piece. The interior and underside of the foot ring show light, age-appropriate shelf wear." less
