Early 18th-century English mezzotint engraving titled The Right Honourable Ann Lady Torrington, engraved by J. Smith in 1720 after the 1709 portrait by Sir Godfrey Kneller, Baronet.
Lower margin reads:“G. Kneller Baronet pinx. 1709.” “J. Smith fec. 1720.”
“Sold by J. Smith at ye Lyon & Crown in Russell Street Covent Garden.”
Framed under glass. Visible plate mark within margins. Paper shows age toning and foxing consistent with early 18th century impressions.
Image size approximately 12.5 x 18.5 inches (visible within mat).
Condition:
Age toning, foxing and margin browning. No visible tears from front under glass. Has not been examined outside frame.
